Transferred Epithet: The Naked Chef

The chef, of course, isn’t naked…. (Though let me caution strongly against Google-imaging ‘The Naked Chef’; or at least scrolling down a couple of rows past the Jamie Oliver results….)

The Naked Chef was also popular at the same time as (at least in suburban Boston) a restaurant chain called The Naked Fish, which made this particular lesson more difficult, because The Naked Chef is, of course, a transferred epithet, while The Naked Fish is not (because the fish (or food; maybe a metonymy?) is in fact naked, or at least intended to be).
